It’s our turn to collect for the We Care I.N.C. Food Pantry. Please share in this ministry opportunity by bringing food items to church during the month of June. This is a good time to clean out your pantry and donate items you haven’t used and probably won’t. Especially needed is Peanut Butter, Canned Fruits & Vegetables, Cereals, Canned Meat, Canned Soups, Noodles, and Sauces. Look for the bushel basket at church to put your donations.

    Holy Week

    Posted: April 13th, 2011

The services of Holy Week are a preparation for the joy of the Resurrection.  Below is a brief description of each service (All services will be held at Baseline Middle School):

Palm Sunday: This liturgy begins by re-telling the story of Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem.  The congregation participates in the procession of palms, and makes a good start to Holy Week through the confession, absolution, and sharing of communion.

    When: 10am

Maundy Thursday: On Maundy Thursday we remember Jesus command to love one another just as God has loved us. The night of the last supper, Jesus demonstrated God’s love by taking on the role of the lowliest servant and washing the disciples feet.

Participants have the opportunity to be involved in a foot washing ceremony followed by communion.

    When: 7pm

Good Friday: On this day Jesus died on the cross for the sins of the world.  Participants make their way together through 14 different stations that re-tell the story of Jesus’ betrayal, conviction, crucifixion, and death.

    When: 7pm

Holy Saturday: On this day Jesus’ body lay in the tomb.  We gather for this service to listen to the stories of God’s providence throughout history, and wait for the resurrection.

    When: 7pm

    The Egyptian Revolution

    Posted: March 8th, 2011

The Rev. Drew Schmotzer is an American who serves as the chaplain and secretary to the Anglican Archbishop of the Middle East, Dr. Mouneer Anis. In his latest newsletter he gives a first hand account of life in Cairo, and sheds a unique perspective on the challenges now facing the people of Egypt:

“I have seen young people on the streets cleaning it, painting it, picking up trash, painting trees in National colors (red, white, black) and doing other acts of charity. These are Christians and Muslims together. However, in the past few days, I have seen monasteries attacked, a church burned down, mini-bus drivers shot by police because they won’t pay the “protection money,” etc… It is still unsafe, but it is still safe.”

    Just Walk Across the Room

    Posted: February 23rd, 2011

What if twenty steps across a room could change your friend’s future forever?

In his book, Just Walk Across the Room, Pastor Bill Hybels describes how taking a few steps and an interest in someone standing across the room can wind up impacting eternity.

Join us for an experience that will refresh your appreciation for the Holy Spirit’s mysterious ways, rekindle your passion for people, and revive your belief that the single greatest gift you can give to your friends and family members is an introduction to the God who created them, loves them, and has a purpose for their lives.
    You’ll learn how to:

    • Develop friendships with people far from God
    • Discover the stories behind their life’s journey
    • Discern what “next steps” will help point them to faith

Just Walk Across the Room: will change your mind about evangelism.
Pointing people to faith is something all of us can do.

This Lenten small group is being led by Ron Darling, and will meet Sunday nights at 6pm at the Diebold’s home.

Interested in joining in? You can sign up today or contact Ron for more details at: rondarling47@yahoo.com or 269-206-2515.

    February 19th Women’s Retreat

    Posted: January 31st, 2011

Lisa Bevere’s provocative book, Lioness Arising, has Christian women everywhere talking…and acting.  In her book, she reminds us that Christ is called the Lion of Judah and that now is the time that his bride arises as a lioness, strong and purposeful.  If you liked the Eldredges’ book, Captivating, you will love Lioness Arising.

Join Summer and other women from around the community on Saturday, February 19th at Cafe Julia’s at 9:30am in the small conference room upstairs until around 1pm.  Bring $5 to help cover the space and food for lunch.  Please RSVP with Summer at mtrsummer@gmail.com

    Financial Peace University

    Posted: January 5th, 2011

    What is it?

Financial Peace University is a 13 week class that can help you stabilize your financial future.  The course was pioneered by Dave Ramsey, a financial advisor and New York Times best-selling author (you can see for yourself here).  At Holy Trinity each class session begins with a 60 minute video presentation, followed by discussion.

    Is There a Cost?

Yes, to take the class you will need Dave Ramsey’s Membership kit.  The cost for the Membership kit is $100, and includes: the workbook, an online membership materials, the envelope system, a hard-cover book, and audio CD’s.  If you decide to take the class, the class coordinator will order your membership kit, and it will be ready for you at the first session.

    How Do I Pre-Register?

It doesn’t cost anything to pre-register.  There is a ‘rolling’ pre-registration process for this class, which means that once enough people have expressed an interest we work out the date, time, and location to fit with everyone’s schedule.   We estimate that a new class will start up in late February.  There is no cost or commitment to pre-register (it just keeps you in the loop).

    You can pre-register here:

This class is open to all, and you are welcome to invite friends to check it out.

    Alpha Program

    Posted: November 21st, 2010

The Alpha program is a great way to learn about God.

This 12 week course starts with the most basic questions of faith, and then expands to cover a variety of topics including prayer, suffering, healing, and spiritual gifts.

Meeting for 60-90 minutes once a week, the group watches a video presentation and then discusses the topic of the week in an open atmosphere where there are no stupid questions.

If you’d like to be kept informed about when the next class will begin, or if you have questions about the program, you can email Fr. Andrew at frandrewgross@gmail.com.

    New Website

    Posted: November 21st, 2010

Hello All, welcome to the new website.  We will be adding new content each week, and taking some of the best stuff from our old website and transferring it over, but here’s a brief overview:

I’m most excited about the page titled “The Latest”.  The content on this page is split into two sections.  On the left hand side of the page is “Food for the Soul.”  If you need a ‘pick me up’ during the week, this might just give you something thoughtful to get you through the day. It will have  a weekly quote, YouTube content, and eventually other content that you might find useful.

On the right hand side of the page you will find “The Week at a Glance.”  On this page is a list of the latest news, and a built in calendar that shows the details for events at Holy Trinity.

Other pages on the site are geared towards visitors, but go ahead and take a look around.
