Over twenty years ago, while serving in the U.S. Air Force, I sensed God’s call to serve Him and shepherd His people. That call marked the beginning of a long and gracious journey—one that hasn’t always followed the expected path, but has continually taught me to trust in God’s timing and guidance.

Along the way, God blessed me with my wife and dearest friend, Michelle, and together we are raising five amazing children. Twelve years ago, our family walked through the doors of the International Anglican Church, and our lives were forever changed. Through the beauty of the Gospel and the richness of the Anglican Way, God confirmed His call, and in 2018, I was ordained as a transitional Deacon.

Shortly afterward, our family entered a season of transition—first to North Dakota, and eventually to our current home in Holland, Michigan. During that time, I had the privilege of serving in several non-Anglican churches and ministries, forming lasting friendships and growing through each opportunity to serve.

Most recently, I’ve been called to serve as Associate Pastor at Holy Trinity Anglican Church in South Haven, Michigan. It has been a joy to be welcomed by this faithful church family and to share in life and ministry together. Though this chapter has just begun, I look forward with hope and trust as God continues to shape and guide me.

Our Story

Holy Trinity Anglican Church was born out of a deep desire for faithfulness to the gospel. In 2007, as theological turmoil grew within the Episcopal Church, a group of believers in South Haven faced a painful but clear conviction: they could no longer remain in good conscience under leadership that, in their view, was departing from biblical truth. Choosing faithfulness over comfort, they left behind their building, resources, and familiar surroundings to continue as a people centered on Christ and His Word. Under the spiritual cover of the Anglican Church of Uganda, they gathered for their first worship service on November 4, 2007, in the cafetorium of Baseline Middle School. They started with little more than hope—and God provided.

In those early years, under the leadership of the Rev. Andrew and the Rev. Summer Gross, the congregation learned to walk by faith, finding strength in prayer, fellowship, and shared mission. The opening of the South Haven Prayer Clinic reflected their heart for intercession and healing—values that remain at the center of who we are today. Over time, God continued to provide faithful leaders, including Fr. Brian Wolthuis and later Fr. Richard Turner and his wife, Dana, as the church grew in depth and stability.

Like many congregations born in seasons of realignment and change, Holy Trinity has also known the challenges of transition. Seasons of shifting leadership and changing diocesan structures sometimes brought instability and weariness. Yet through every trial, God’s faithfulness endured. Under the steady pastoral care of Fr. Rob Cornelison, the church entered a much-needed time of healing and renewal—rebuilding trust, restoring relationships, and rediscovering joy in shared worship and service.

Today, Holy Trinity stands firmly rooted within the Anglican Church in North America and the growing Diocese of the Great Lakes, under the faithful care and oversight of Bishop Mark Engel.  Having been shaped by both struggle and grace, we continue to pursue our calling: bringing hope and healing to our community through the gospel. What began as a small fellowship with little more than faith has become a living testimony to God’s power to restore, sustain, and renew His people. The story that began in 2007 is still unfolding—and we believe the best chapters are yet to come.
